North Charlotte

Realtor Area 1 is bordered by I-77 and Lake Norman to the West, Cabarrus County to the East and University City to the South. This area offers easy access to both Charlotte and the lake area making this a desirable place to live for many families.

Huntersville
Of the cities within this MLS area, Huntersville is the largest with a population of nearly 35,000. Located off I-77 in northern Mecklenburg County, this area has a small-town atmosphere with abundant amenities such as shopping, restaurants and its proximity to Lake Norman. Money Magazine recognized Huntersville as 76th Best Place to Live in America for 2005 and as one of the top 20 places in North Carolina to retire. Although many retail centers and communities are new, Huntersville boasts an impressive past as an integral part of Mecklenburg's early Revolutionary War history. Noteworthy: Hopewell Presbyterian Church off Beatties Ford Road

Davidson
This quiet community is home to Davidson College established in 1837. The rules for development have remained strict in this area, making new neighborhoods blend in seamlessly. The Town Green, an open area in the middle of downtown, is used for a variety of festivals and special events throughout the year. Main Street offers a small-town feel while new communities nearby offer a variety of housing types and amenities. Noteworthy: Fisher Farm, a 200-acre park with 2 and a half miles of maintained walking trails, Icehouse Center for Creativity, Craft & Design, William H. Van Every, Jr. and Edward M. Smith Galleries on the Davidson College campus.

Cornelius
The damming of the Catawba River in 1963 to create Lake Norman was influential in revamping this small town into the home for many new communities and lakeside residences. Two county parks let the public experience all that Lake Norman has to offer. Area golf courses also make Cornelius a popular place to live. Noteworthy: Jetton and Ramsey Creek Parks
